Car owner: Hendrik L., who had just bought a used sedan. Where did the car come from: Near Tallinn Song Square, Kadriorg.
1. Paint thickness on every panel: The bonnet, polished under the previous owner, measured 88 microns. We do not correct paint below 90 microns, so this car received coating without polishing.
2. Preparation: We used touchless foam washing, iron deposit removal and clay treatment, then wiped the clean surface with a 50% isopropanol solution. The paint thickness reading ruled out correction polishing.
3. Application: Both coats were applied one panel at a time with a chamois applicator in a cross pattern and each panel was rubbed to a gloss for 4 minutes.
4. Handover: the manufacturer's 48-month warranty and the pre-application hood reading, 88 microns, remained on Hendrik's job sheet.
Cost: ceramic coating for the paintwork, two layers: 1 × €600; pick-up and return within Tallinn: 1 × €24. The total amount of job sheet No. 16,803 including VAT is €624.
Project time in 2026: 8 hours of work. The layer was dry to the touch in 2 hours at 20 °C, the car was kept out of the rain for the first 24 hours and was returned to Kadriorg the following business morning. The owner was advised not to wash the car for 14 days, because the layer reaches its final hardness in 7 days.
What changed: the bonnet's 88-micron clear coat remained in full thickness, and the entire car received a 2.5-micron double-layer protection.
