Car owner: Raivo M., a Nõmme resident who has cared for his red car for 14 years. Where did the car come from: Near Glehn Castle, Nõmme.
1. Paint thickness and quote: We measured all 13 panels. The thinnest reading was 104 microns on the roof, and we provided a written quote based on those measurements.
2. Half-and-half test: We polished one half of a bonnet test area in two stages. Under the 6,500 K diagnostic lamp, the restored red colour was easy to compare with the untouched half.
3. Wash and polish: After a touchless wash and clay treatment, a rotary polisher cut with a wool pad at 1,500 rpm, followed by a foam finishing pad. A 75 mm pad reached the mirrors and door-handle areas.
4. Final inspection: Each panel received a final pass under a 6,500 K lamp. We recorded a 30-day polishing guarantee beside the paint thickness readings on the job sheet.
Cost: Multistage deep polishing: 1 × €420; workshop drop-off: 1 × €0. Job sheet No. 14,891 totals €420 including VAT.
Project time in 2025: 5 hours 30 minutes of work in one business day, of which deep polishing in two stages took 5 hours and curved surfaces with a 75 mm pad took 30 minutes. The car returned to Nõmme on the same day.
What changed: The red tone is deep and consistent across all 13 panels, and none of the panels show swirl marks under the 6,500 K lamp.
